Cinema Room Renovation

The work that is shown here was not completed whilst at Distinct Interiors, however it was within my 10 years of design.  I have worked with this client over a number of years and continue to do so, I believe we have built a great relationship as I know what they like and the style they are wanting to create.

My client loves anything glitzy and elegant but it still has a crisp contemporary finish.

This room is the clients snug/ cinema room so the room needed to feel cosy and to lounge in but sill appealing to the eye.

To create a moody look, we went for statement wallpaper, we did this by using Omexco Minerals and mixed 2 different tones and textures on all 4 walls. When the light shines on this paper it picks out all the different tones and colours which looks amazing. The client already had a blackout battery operated roller blinds however we decided to finish the window treatment off we would dress these with soft flowing voiles, we used a two tone voile to accentuate the colours in the room which work perfectly against the lighter wallpaper.

We wanted to make the sofa one of the main features in the room as the room was meant to be a cinema room, therefore we wanted something to look elegant classy but also something that was comfortable that you could sit on for hours and get lost in a good film.

We used 2 different luxurious velvets by Osborne and Little, the pleated effect gives a striking looking and the contrast piping just finishes this sofa off. We used the tones in the rest of the room on the sofa. The sofa is deeper than usual sofas as the client wanted a deep seat to snuggle back on, we added movable footstools so they could be positioned to where you are sitting at the time.

This room is complete with the up lighting, the up lighting finishes this room off which creates a truly unique effect and lovely ambient mood to the room.
